"Chiefly adapted to the climate of the northern countries." First published in 1754 under the title The Scots Gardener, Justice's work went through several popular editions in London, Edinburgh and Dublin. This edition was "augmented and improved" with three additional plates, and also has included A Dissertation on the Culture of Forest-Trees. James Justice major horticultural claim to fame is as the person to introduce the pineapple to Scotland. Copies of this book were advertised for sale in the Virginia Gazette in Williamsburg in the eighteenth century. Front hinge strengthened; some minor wear to covers, else very good.
