An illustrated catalogue of escape proof jails made from chrome and iron.  Included are discussions of sanitary arrangements, sleeping arrangements, serving meals, capacity and size of cells, window guards, locking arrangements, and other matters.  Tipped on to the front cover is an announcement that Springfield Architectural Iron Works have succeeded Wm. Burns & Co. and Hanika Fence Co.  Laid-in is a two-page tls dated 1891 on company stationary to Jewells, Georgia, offering particulars about jail products and two blue prints of ornate porch columns, friezes and ballustrades.  Rare.  No catalogues from these firms are in OCLC or McKinstry's list of trade catalogues at Winterthur.  Good plus condition.
