DES CANONS, DES MUNITIONS?

LE CORBUSIER.  DES CANONS, DES MUNITIONS?

Boulogne: L'Architecture d'Aujourd'hui, 1938, Oblong 4to. Cloth spine, boards. 147, (1) pages. First edition.

A classic of twentieth century architecture.  While featuring Le Corbusier's Pavillon des Temps Nouveaux, built for the Paris Exhibition of 1937, with its tentlike construction anticipating the tension of postwar buildings, the book also concerns itself with home design and the aims of the Congres Internationaux d'Architecture Moderne (CIAM) as an alternative to rearmament.  Decorated boards rubbed and slightly sunned, some edgewear.
