Rare trade catalogue not recorded on OCLC.  An 1895 illustrated trade catalogue of fire alarm singal boxes and central office monitoring and signal repeating equipment from industry pioneer, the Gamewell Fire-Alarm Telegraph Company of New York.  The company's state-of-the-art, electromagnetic telegraph product line and its new Massachusetts manufactory are shown in fine detailed engravings in this large format catalogue and are accompanied by 27 pages of scientific and professional testimonials from many of the 600 towns and cities across America.  Gamewell's technology permitted accurate and instantaneous communication of fire locations and level of seriousness from public fire boxes to a central office.  The central office, in turn, could communicate this information to specific or even several or all fire engine companies or stations as needed.  The fire indicators described in the catlaogue included both visual and auditory signals.  These initial signals could also relay to bell towers at individual fire stations.  Gamewell, ever alert to coming tencnological communication for urban public safety, for both fire and police, was the next technologiclal frontier and Gamewell was determined to remain in the vanguard.  Edge-wear to wrappers; lower wrapper creased and separation along spine.  Internally, very good.
