This is the fourth binding using the Leake Patent Leather system executed by Remnants and Edmonds.  They were awarded a Prize Medal at the Great Exhibition of 1851 for their work.  Owen Jones designed the book and its binding.  Embellished on inside of front board with chromolighographic presentation plate: "Kindest Thoughts."  This copy is a bright and desirable example of the binding which is usually found in unexceptional condition.
